VBS- Vacation Bible School

"If you know God placed us on this earth and if you know that he wants us to take care of it. Then why forsake it when he has never forsaken us?" - Anonymous

Last week my family and I went to Vacation Bible School at Crossroads Presbyterian Church. Their theme this  year was Step Up and Go Green For Jesus!. All week we discussed how we can conserve energy, and other things dealing with the earth. To be honest, I am not the type of person who talks about, the earth and save the planet or mother nature. It's not in my interest, until learned the verse. Genesis 2:15 "And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." I was quick to judge and didn't wait to find out what I was in for. One of the teens in the church made this awesome statement. "If you know God placed us on this earth and if you know that he wants us to take care of it. Then why forsake it when he has never forsaken us?" I learned that the average aluminum an American uses can make ALL the parts of an airplane. That means we use alot of aluminum, and just in ONE day. I learned alot of cool stuff. Now at home we are trying to conserve energy at home by avoiding simple things such as not leaving the water on when brushing your teeth, and turning of the lights when you don't need them, use the sunlight.

  1. That is great, Godslillamb. It sounds like you had a great time. It's amazing that just by turning off lights when they're not in use, turning off the water while brushing teeth and things like that can save/conserve so much energy! I personally try to have all the lights on in the house during the day time unless it is cloudy/rainy. During the summer and winter months, I do use the fans/AC but I do turn it off when the weather isn't very hot or cold.

    I have a new blog www.vivo-amour-risa.blogspot.com

  2. That's a good point the little girl made. I must admit it requires discipline that I am not used to. So accustomed to simply throwing it all away. But I do conserve energy that's for sure.
